Time has just flown by. I really don’t know how it got so fast! Did the earth turn faster? I thought I read it was turning slower and in fact the molten core was reversing. That would be interesting. Maybe future residents of this little blue marble could see the sun rise in the west? Why not. Everything else seems so topsy turvy nowadays.  So, is that a wonderful segue or what? I really don’t know which topic I could even begin to harp upon. The Veep Waltz? I hear John Williams is composing it for the inaugural ball next year! (TeeHee!) It was lass than a month ago all us yeller-dawgs were dragging our tails between our legs, whimpering about the prospect of a certain PENIS (that stands for ‘Publican Except Nobody Is Sure!) regaining the office he lost so pitifully four years previously. Oh what can we do? Sigh. So we kicked out the stalwart of democracy who had been a rock of stability for 50 or so short years - threw him in the gutter ‘cause he’s old. Doesn’t matter he’s still s...
You know, another five days has gone by! Time sure passes quickly when you’re a Dem! Pity. I only wrote a thesis on water intrusion after supervising a wall reconstruction! And I created an epistle to the new owner of the ‘white box’ condominium above me about the water leaks into my unit. And I went to what may be my final doctor’s appointment at the clinic I have gone to for the last 16 years as my insurance cancelled them, not me! And I can cook too! But that’s after I finish this installment. I’m wavering on stuffed chicken breasts or turkey meatballs. Where’s the coin to flip? But at least I got an answer to why my kitchen sink was full of soap suds when I came back from paying my ‘rent’ yesterday. A unit three floors above mine had used dishwashing soap in their dishwasher and had flooded tiny bubbles throughout the drain standpipe to all below! And I wonder why my ‘rent’ keeps going up! How foolish of me.  On top of all that, my only friend and I had a spat over tree b...
Damn! Another five days gone by. I’m certainly not on my toes for this job, now am I? Oh well not much is happening. My representative in the Congress passed away, the apparent Democratic presidential nominee came here this week, the current President will be here tomorrow, and then soon to be President Kamala will return again on Thursday the first! That’s a lot for our small town! And it’s in a red state to boot! Whaddaya think they think they’ll get outta all these visits? Votes? Hah, not in Texxas, but it’s not for lack of trying, that’s fer sure!  Our Rep in Congress, Sheila Jackson Lee (RIP) also ran recently for mayor here, but lost to a local politician. In a way, I’m glad that didn’t happen for us here in H-Town, but does that mean the Guv’nor Hot Wheelz will do the selecting in her absentia? I’ve heard rumors that that’s not how it’s done. But my law license expired the year before I was born.  Actually my Daddy was a Lawyer type, (we all call our fathers Daddy...
Oh my, it’s five days later and I’m being a lazy slug. Oh well, nothing happened since my last post. Well, maybe a little on the electoral front . . . Who am I kidding? An incumbent running for re-election to the highest office in the whole world steps down from running ‘cause people made him feel to old! Isn’t that age discrimination? He can’t sue the entire population, nor can he even sue individuals, as there were many, many respected legislators and a few ‘Publicans in Congress who voiced their opinions he was too old. He wasn’t and isn’t. He’s smart as a whip, but age does slow us all down. These blogs of mine take much, much longer now that my hands are screaming in pain from arthritis! But I can still think. Well, maybe not like the President but regardless of what my significant other says, I have some common sense. And the other candidate in the race certainly doesn’t have a lot of that virtue. Or any other virtue that I can discern.  What’s done is done. Ol’ Joe is ...
By golly, it’s been another four days. What a four day life we’re having here in what’s left of the U.S. of A. One party is nominating a convicted felon with a horrible track record as president as I write this, while the other party is trying to oust the duly primarily-elected nominee ‘cause he is older than the other candidate. Just because the older guy has one of the best records for the country on the economy, on jobs, on social issues and the like doesn’t mean we can’t dump him? Out with old and in with the inexperienced. Some people have forgotten we tried that in 2016 to 2021. Some people have forgotten that history can repeat itself, even if that history was made just 8 years ago. Being old at this time to me is a blessing. Just from the last two months I cannot see living in this country much longer. Evil is good. Autocracy with a king like figure and his chosen court of obsequious followers is what we as a nation rebelled from almost 250 years ago. Historically though, ...
You would think I did this a lot, but as you see I can procrastinate with the best of them! And congratulations to the former President #45 for being smarter that an assassin’s bullet. I’m not sure, but I think this is our first presidential assassin who died at the scene. The Secret Service must be gettin’ more practice in at the range these days! Seems like an important part of the job - more so now! At least we won’t be burdened with this idiot’s questioning and a trial and all that. I’m sure the ‘Publicans can determine what made him do it. They love to promote conspiracy theories as fact, especially if it makes them look good!  I can’t wait to hear how this will reinforce the second amendment clause. As we know down here in Texxas, it’s just a matter of time before we can happily go back to the days of the Wild Wild West and the fastest trigger is the rule of law. Well, at least until that AI stuff takes over, and then we won’t have to worry about anything, as that highe...
Now it’s four days after my good friend Beryl came to visit me as well as several million of her other close friends here in H-Town. However some others of her friends are not so happy about her visit. It seems they were less than prepared for the kinds of things she likes to do.  For example, all the old oak trees are used to visits from her relatives, but still moan, groan or just fall over at her and her relatives’ brazen ways! Nothing new, as it’s been going on for eons - even before sacred Texas was a state! Don’t believe me? Look up Indianola in a history book. And those folks didn’t have electricity! Now there’s a topic that has many if the hosts here in town ready to have vigilante rule! String up those robber barons who didn’t prepare enough for the dear lady’s arrival! Why, we can send a man to the moon, so how come we can’t keep power on from a little wind? We pay good money to keep that 21st century bloodline pumping, just like we cherish the fossil fuels our lead...
